Running a Safe Online Business: part one

June 25th, 2009

Welcome to the first of this seven part series…”Running a Safe Online Business” Crash Course.

Each day for the next 7 days you will receive a lesson that will help you learn the basic information that you need to know to Running a Safe Online Business.

In this first lesson let’s have a little history lesson.

In the last decade there has been an extraordinary amount of people that have started their own online business and there can be little doubt that this trend will continue as people seek out ways to control their own financial future.

The total volume of spending that takes place online is similarly amazing. Most experts are talking in the range of something over a billion dollars a year. Many experts also believe that 40% of all retail sales will be made online by the year 2020, although others put this number still higher.

There are several driving forces behind this explosion in online business.

The first of these is a growing willingness of the consumer to buy and spend money online. At the same time, it is becoming easier and more secure for the consumer to make online purchases as many hundreds of well-established businesses set up their first sales enabled websites, and begin to accept credit card payments online.

Having grown up with computers, these people are far more comfortable and relaxed about spending money online than some of their older peers, and this too has shifted the demographics of online business considerably.

Alongside this explosive growth in the number of people who are willing and able to spend money online, there has been an equally phenomenal increase in the number of people who are supplying products and services online.

Many of these new online product suppliers are established businesses that have finally decided that selling on the Internet is something that they should be doing, as it clearly opens up a new and potentially huge global marketplace to them.

On the other hand, there are also thousands or perhaps even millions of new online businesses being started by private individuals who have had little or no previous business experience, but who have nevertheless decided to give Internet marketing a try.

During the next few days we will be going over the risks that are associated with running an online business. Unfortunately, these risks are almost universal for any individual who decides to start their own online business. The main goal of this short course is to make you aware of the risks, involved and provide you with the basic information that you need to protect yourself, your business and your assets.

We have a lot to go over in the next few days, so make sure you look for your next lesson tomorrow. We will start going over the basic steps that you need to take to ensure the safety of your online business.

Until tomorrow.

Take care,
Ken Mathie

Create The Best Email Marketing Campaign

April 11th, 2009

How to create the best possible campaign for Email Marketing Design?

Want to do PPC instead? Look at PPC Ninja!

The email marketing design created by you will be successful if you follow few crucial points. Keeping it simple should be your first priority. The success of your business will be determined by the actual content of your email not the presence of a showy mesmerizing window of opportunity. Think of revamping your campaign if presently it is ‘gimmicky’ as it may be responsible for warding off people. Email Marketing or PPC Marketing? Both are the way to go! PPC Ninja!

If you do wish to come up with a different campaign the following may help. Try a simple email newsletter. This would help, since an average user spends more or less 50 seconds to review an Internet newsletter, as per a report by the Nielson Norman Group. However, in marketing campaigns boarded by emails, the reader’s attention is held for a lowly average of four seconds. It is apparent that the newsletter format is 10 times more effective at holding your average reader’s attention as compared to the normal email.

The actual design of the e-mail or the newsletter comes next. Creating a lucid marketing design that not only captures but also sustains the attention is the essence. It is a well known fact that majority of customers and e-mail users do not read the e-mails received by them completely. They only browse through the content of remaining e-mails that they happen to open. The appeal of advertising dynamics varies from one individual to another. Thus your e-mail newsletter or advertisement should have something to grab the attention of each of these demographics. Besides being simple, a successful email marketing campaign will also put to use ASIC principles of design. Encourage the use of contrasting colors for specific statements you want to emphasize to draw the attention of the reader. When e-mailing information, you must also take into account the fact that there are varying e-mail inboxes standards. For example Hotmail and AOL both offer varying standards when it comes to opening e-mail. It’s a good idea to use colors and fonts that will be visually appealing in any e-mail genre. Email forums have adapted to restricting the design segment within a range of 200 to 300 pixels. The inference drawn here is that you should have a proportionate e-mail design. You must make an attempt to ensure that a smooth flow and even distribution are characteristics associated with the complete content of your marketing design. Myriad studies have been conducted on how most internet users use the web to read various documents and e-mails.

If you aspire to grab your reader’s attention, you can definitely do so with an e-mail marketing design. The most successful design is conceptualized assuming the page is viewed for five seconds. It implies that there is a five second time constraint on any information put on your page, within which it should be read / scanned. It’s a good idea to use your knowledge. Your message should take up real estate less than that taken by standard e-mail advertisements when you choose to market using media. If you don’t want your email advertisement to be filtered out as junk by ISPs then ensure that it takes up less space and doesn’t appear like spam. Primarily the images in your email should convey your message in a jiffy, the presence of beautiful photographs and logos is secondary.

To get the maximum benefit out of your promotional campaign make it a point to have images that say more than “I’m attractive”. E-mail marketing is an industry which gets you quick responses. It insinuates the importance of ensuring that all opportunities to make contact with you are made available to your probable clients. Messages embedded with your contact information will enable people to get in touch with you easily.
Make sure the email you send to potential clients consists of your address, telephone numbers, fax number, links to your site and other information that can be utilized to get in touch with you on any regular day. Let’s be realistic! Unless you have a suitable internet marketing design, your email campaign ought to fail. Email Marketing or PPC Marketing? Both are the way to go! Information is control!. Use the knowledge you have gained here and from other means effectively and your email campaign will have a lot better prospect of accumulating revenues to your bottom line.

Email Marketing Campaign Management Pitfalls To Avoid

September 28th, 2008

When Email Marketing Does Not Work

Whether you are already involved in an email marketing campaign or are simply considering the possibility of launching an email marketing campaign it is important to note that email marketing does not always work. copywriting service. This means that sometimes despite your best efforts, or sometimes in spite of your best efforts, you email marketing campaign will either not generate the degree of success you anticipated or may not generate any success at all. This failure to generate success may be do to a variety of reasons. Some of these reasons may be a lack of interest on behalf of your target audience, failure to properly execute your email marketing strategy or poor planning in your strategy. This article will take a look at some situations in which email marketing is not effective and will offer some advice for dealing with these situations.

First we will consider why a lack of interest from target audience members can result in a failed email marketing campaign. Before investing time, energy and money into an email marketing campaign, it is worthwhile to hire a consultant to conduct market research. This research should provide valuable feedback such as demographics for the target audience and information on the probability these target audience members will be responsive to email marketing. This last piece of information in particular should help the business owner to determine whether or not to pursue email marketing as an advertising option. If market research indicates the members of your target audience are not likely to purchase the products or services you offer online or even use the Internet to research these products or services; investing in an email marketing software is not worthwhile. You may enjoy a small degree of success from this marketing effort but it is not likely to significant enough to warrant the time and effort required to achieve this small degree of success. email marketing campaign software.

Another aspect of email marketing which can cause your marketing campaign to result in failure is the inability to properly execute your marketing plan. This is important because even the most well formulated marketing strategy can flounder if you are not able to properly execute these steps. For example, you may plan to use e-newsletters as a critical component of your copywriting service campaign but if these e-newsletters do not appear to be professionally designed and written, frequently arrive late and do not offer valuable information, readers are not likely to invest in your products or services based on these e-newsletters. In each aspect of your email marketing campaign, you should strive to ensure the information you provide to your email recipients is informative, accurate and interesting. This type of copy is more likely to pique the interest of the readers.

Finally, poor planning can cause an email marketing campaign to falter. For example, if you were to issue a component of your email marketing campaign hoping to generate a huge interest in your products and receive a great deal of interest, you should be prepared to be able to sell your products. Not having enough stock on hand after you undergo a marketing effort can be a critical mistake because potential customers may lose interest if they have to wait for the products. This is just one example of poor planning causing problems but poor planning can cause a host of different problems including potential customers losing interesting, the creation of confusion regarding your products and services and even potential customers being angered by your email marketing. email marketing campaigns.
