Australia Falls to Chinese Internet Censorship
Dear Senator Conroy,
What ever happened to the days when a parent was responsible for what actions and what their children watched and did?
I am 62 years old and of late I watch in horror as more of our basic rights as citizens in a so called democratic country are being taken from us.
To censorship the Internet to prevent so called unsuitable content from reaching children is likened to cracking a peanut open with a sledge hammer.
It is hypocritical for a government to publicly criticize China for it’s human rights behavior when YOU and your leader are following in China footsteps.
This used to be a good democracy, a great place where people accepted responsibility for themselves. Now it appears the minority rule.
How can you as a government allow all the crap shown on TV, in Cinemas, and available in video outlets and bookshops to be viewed and sold. Then select just the Internet as the one place a few parasites have access to terrorize our children?
At the end of the day this censorship will have holes blown in it every where, just as it is done in China.
You got it wrong Senator, I along with hundreds of 1000’s are totally pissed and I for one will be getting this message out where ever possible. I already started emailing in AU and messaging overseas warning people this is just the start, what comes next.
My dear valued readers, no matter where you live watch this action and fear what may be next in your free country.
